This show combines, if somewhat incongruously, the sun washed watercolors of Portland artist Connie Cohen and the “Night Walker” series of oil paintings by Patti Battin. Cohen’s work reflects her love of the great outdoors, summer, and community with friends. In Battin’s work there is an urban distancing. Figures and buildings are lost in shadowed perspective. The cold glare of headlights and streetlamps reflect off wet pavement as people hunched in winter coats hurry homeward.
